The felt is the part of an electrochemical marking system nobody thinks about until it slows the job down. It holds the electrolyte, carries the current to the part, and absorbs the by-products of every mark made. Once saturated, mark quality drops and the operator has to stop, wash it and wait.

HQ felt is built to delay that moment.

The difference against SQ

Standard SQ felt saturates relatively quickly. On a continuous run that means repeated interruptions — wash, wait, refit, resume. Each stop is short, but across a shift they add up, and they are the reason manual marking often gets estimated as slower than it actually is.

HQ felt holds marking by-products considerably longer. Fewer washes, fewer replacements, and the bench keeps running.

Where it earns its cost

Batch production, serialised parts, pre-delivery marking of a full order — anywhere the operator is making mark after mark rather than one every so often.

For occasional or light-duty marking, standard SQ felt is the sensible choice.

Pairing with electrolytes

HQ felt with M21 is the combination for uninterrupted running: the electrolyte clears by-products as it works and the felt holds what remains. With M22 the felt still needs washing after use — deep etch loads it faster than any felt can carry.
