M23 Electrolyte for Medical Instruments and Corrosion-Critical Hardware
M23 is the non-corrosive fluid in the range. It exists for parts where the marking process itself must not introduce a corrosion risk — surgical and dental instruments, implant handling tools, food-contact equipment, and any hardware where a residual trace of an aggressive electrolyte would be a finding.
The post-process is a dry wipe
After marking with M21 or M22, the surface is neutralised with N11 and the residue rinsed away. M23 removes that step entirely. Wipe the surface with a dry cloth and the part is finished.
That matters more than it sounds. A wet neutralising and rinsing step means a drying stage, a place to do it, and a validated procedure if the part is regulated. Removing it removes all three.
Where it is used
Instruments and hardware in stainless grades chosen for corrosion resistance, where the mark must not compromise the property the material was selected for. Also anywhere the part cannot practically be taken to a sink — marking on the assembly line, at the customer site, or on an assembled unit before shipment.
Contrast
M23 produces a clean, legible mark. For the darkest possible black oxide, or for etch depth, M22 remains the fluid to use — on materials where that is acceptable.
