N11 Neutralyte for Electrochemical Marking
The neutralyte is the step that decides whether a mark stays as good as it looked on the day it was made.
Why the step exists
Marking with M21 or M22 leaves the etched area chemically active. Left as it is, that residue continues to work on the surface — and on corrosion-resistant grades chosen specifically for their surface behaviour, that is the opposite of what the material was selected for. N11 stops the reaction and leaves the marked area stable.
The pH indicator
N11 carries a pH indicator, so neutralisation is visible rather than assumed. The operator can see when the step is complete instead of timing it or taking it on trust. On regulated work, a visible endpoint is easier to write into a procedure than a stopwatch.
When it is not needed
M23 is non-corrosive and finishes with a dry wipe. If your work runs on M23 throughout, N11 is not part of the process.
